Sparks collaborates with Lone Star Songs, a new art song organization directed by Kathleen Kelly, for the first songSLAM in Texas!

The Central Texas songSLAM is a unique opportunity for up to 12 composer/performer teams to premiere new art songs and compete for cash prizes. Each team presents a new song of 5 minutes or less for voice and piano in any language. The voting audience then, in the poetry slam tradition, votes on their favorites and awards $2,000 in prize money as follows: 

$1,000 for first place, $600 for second place and $400 for third place

REGISTRATION OPENS THURSDAY NOVEMBER 17th at 6pm Central Time HERE. Registration is first come, first served! Those teams who do not register in time to be included will have their registration fee returned to them. 

The first twelve teams to register will participate in the songSLAM on 

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 19 at 5 pm at CULTIVATE 7TWELVE
